The most dramatic I think about just now – being in Budapest – is the memorial shoes beside the Danube. They tell a tragic story about what evil people can do to other people. Even to children. It was the Arrow Cross Party in Hungary – sister party to the nazis – or more correctly the cruel people in the party ….
Before they shot the jews they told them to take off their shoes and leave them on the border. The leather was more valued than the people. Then they murdered the jewish mothers, fathers, children … and they fell into the danube … leaving their shoes behind.
I pay a visit every time I’m here.
Daily Prompt: Dramatic.
